Jim and Ann began singing together in a trio in 1963, with Ann’s older brother, Dan.  Jim was 19 years old and Ann was just 16. At that time, most of the songs they sang were the popular folk music of the sixties.

Though both had grown up in families that were faithful church attendees, they each experienced the life-changing event of becoming born-again believers separately; Jim, in 1964 while in the Air Force and Ann, in 1965 while attending Colorado State College in Greeley. All of Jim’s time in the service was spent overseas (England and Taiwan) but when he returned to Aurora, they were married on June 7, 1968.

With their growing understanding of the Lord’s love for them, Christian music became their primary focus. They’ve had opportunity over the years to sing in choral groups, small groups, and sometimes as soloists or duets in a number of different churches. The musical expression they most love, is singing together as worship leaders.  Knowing that the Lord has given them this joint ministry makes it a joy and privilege for them to serve the Body of Christ here at Cornerstone Community Church.

Jack and Joyce founded the House of Tephillah Ministry in Nairobi, Kenya and have been training young music worship leaders there since 1997. They have a unique African music style, and their worship is Holy Spirit led. Dec. 14&15 2019

A tradition that has become a part of our preparing for Christmas is our annual women’s gathering the first weekend in December. I believe beauty speaks to a women’s soul and refreshes her spirit when combined with embracing the heart of God through song, the sharing of God’s Word, fellowship with one another. As women share their decorating of tables, wonderful food and bring their guests we have enjoyed our Christmas Tea and Caroling time and have been encouraged to prepare our hearts for Advent the coming of Jesus.
