The Father Heart of God
He is interested in what interests you!
Romans 8:15 (ESV) reads ‘For you did not receive a spirit of fear, but you have received a Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”’ Abba is an Aramaic term that can be translated ‘Daddy.’ And the idea is that God wants to have a relationship with us that is comparable to a caring daddy with his small child. With this relationship comes trust at a deep level. Our loving Daddy carries us in his arms and shows a genuine interest in the things that interest us. This is a season when we consider the price that had to be paid for this relationship to become a reality - the death, burial and resurrection of Daddy’s ‘One and Only Son,’ Jesus! Take time this Lent season as we move toward Easter to remember the cost of your adoption into the family of God!
